The Role
  
This role provides student-focused financial counselling and support services, to assist students to effectively understand and improve their financial wellbeing. This will include guidance on budgeting, managing debt, accessing financial aid, and navigating financial crises. Duties will include:
  • Provide confidential one-on-one financial counselling to students experiencing financial stress
  • Facilitate access to financial assistance, such as emergency funds, hardship support, and aid applications
  • Coordinate holistic student support, including referrals to internal services and external agencies
  • Assist with delivering financial literacy education through workshops, webinars, and resources
  • Work towards the goal of supporting student retention, academic success, and overall wellbeing

Skills Required

  • Tertiary qualifications in Financial Counselling, Social Work, or related field
  • Experience providing financial counselling or support, ideally in a university or community setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support diverse groups
  • Knowledge of personal finance issues and ability to deliver clear, tailored advice and financial literacy support
