Our client is an established community services organisation with a presence across Australia. This organisation supports and empowers diversity. 

The Role

As the successful investigations officer, you will be responsible for investigating reported allegations of abuse and neglect of children, young people and disability stakeholders. 

This position is expected to be incredibly busy and you will be joining a supportive team of 3, including x 2 Investigations Officers and an experienced Manager. Currently the role on offer is a 12-month fixed term contract, however a permanent opportunity may become available in the future. However, this is not a guarantee. 

Working from either the central or South-Eastern office, your responsibilities will include:
  • Taking ownership of new incidents and managing a varied caseload
  • Carrying out investigations into allegations of reportable conduct within the organisation 
  • Conducting investigative interviews, analysing evidence and making recommendations to support findings
  • Liaising with varied stakeholders including governmental departments and peak bodies
  • Making recommendations and providing feedback in relation to operation issues to mitigate future risks. 
Skills & Experience
  • Degree qualification in law, community services or a related discipline
  • Certificate IV Investigator Training  
  • Substantial investigative experience within the community services sector
  • A willingness to present or undergo a Working With Children's Check and a Police Check
  • A clean current Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated understanding of the reportable conduct scheme, child safe standards and requirements of the disability worker inclusion scheme 
  • A genuine commitment to process improvement and the care and protection of children, young people and disability clients
  • Demonstrated experience handling sensitive information
  • A general desire and willingness to successfully commit to the full-length of the contract.
