The Role

As the Manager of Digital Communications, you will lead and mentor a close-knit team to produce a large variety of digital communication initiatives including projects, news, and media content pieces across various channels.  Your ability to create and deliver using a number of different voices, together with your eye for viewing through an editorial lens, will ensure a high calibre of work, and engagement across other organisations in the sector.
  
Most important is your team focus, and your demonstrated ability to lead, manage, mentor and encourage this diverse team to bring the best and most efficient work to this heart-centred organisation.
  
Your depth of previous experience will also allow you to speak with authority, to pull back or push back when communicating with the management team on direction and initiatives.  Standing firm on your opinion will count.
  
Reporting to the Executive Director Engagement and Sector Development, your core responsibilities include:
  
  • Leading a team to deliver strategic digital campaigns to drive growth and engagement
  • Contributing to development and delivery of the corporate communications plan
  • Developing digital strategies, including concepts and execution, for specific projects and funded campaigns
  • Developing and delivering content calendars supporting advocacy and increasing supporters and members
  • Managing social media channels, including planning, campaigns, and reporting .
  • Managing delivery of e-newsletters, monitoring and improving performance
  • Delivering regular reports on audience insight, campaign performance, and analysing engagement tools
  
In terms of leadership and accountability, the following will be important:

  • Leading and managing direct reports, including effective coaching and mentoring
  • Maintaining an understanding of organisation policies, procedures, project, document and stakeholder management systems, and supporting direct reports to adhere to same
  • Taking a personal responsibility for significant projects or initiatives, solving problems, and ensuring delivery of contracted deliverables
  • Identifying potential business development and funding opportunities
  • Representing the organisation externally and ensuring professional relationships are adhered to
You will be expected to operate autonomously and as an effective, senior contributing team member.
  
Your ability to actively listen to seek understanding, while reflecting the ability to share information and to craft communication to achieve operational effectiveness will be invaluable.

Skills Required
  
To excel in this role, you must bring the following:
  • High level personal integrity, with commitment to creating progressive change in the world.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the execution of best practices in email marketing and/or social media management.
  • Minimum 5 years of combined email campaign and social media experience.
  • Talented writing skills, especially in email and social media formats, and are able to adjust to multiple style guides and sender/brand voices.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop engaging digital content, including graphic and video content.
  • Demonstrated track record of having successfully managed large email lists and/or social media followings.
  • Experience with digital and social media campaigns, and/or issue areas of strong relevance equal opportunity and wellbeing for all
Additional Criteria/information:
  • The position may involve some out of hours work and intrastate travel
  • Proof of your Covid-19 vaccination status will be required for this position prior to commencement
