The Role
  
Working within the Advancement team in this development officer position, you will be responsible to:

  • Assist with managing the Major Gifts teams’ goal setting, performance and motivation
  • Collaborate with philanthropic individuals and organisations
  • Create, develop and manage relationships with alumni, friends, donors and other supporters to advance the university’s mission
  • Integrate strategic collaboration with colleagues across the team to secure philanthropic commitments
  • Work closely with the Director of Development to maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders to provide expertise and guidance on major donor fundraising


Skills Required
  
This role would suit individuals who have previous experience in fundraising, ideally from either higher education or research foundations. The following skills will ensure your success:
  • Understanding of major gifts fundraising and advancement strategies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient and knowledgeable in securing major gifts and working with high net worth individuals
  • Understanding of and experienced in managing annual appeals and/ or community fundraising
  • Strong emotional intelligence with a genuine style to manage and build relationships
