The Organisation

Not-for-profit organisation based in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne specialised in bringing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities together.

The Role 

Autonomous 6-week Events Project Coordinator role, commencing immediately.

Reporting into the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for every part of the event preparation ahead of a key Gala taking place in July. Plans are already in place, however you will assist with the following:
  • Day to day event planning (300- 350 attendees)
  • Overseeing marketing functions
  • Coordinating ticketing via TryBooking
  • Liaising with stakeholders and responding to queries 
  • Facilitating the event set up and closure
  • Managing event budgets and communicating effectively to management.
About You 

You are a skilled Events Coordinator with exceptional organisational skills and professionalism.  Ideally you will have experience working in the Indigenous or NGO space, or share a passion and understanding for it.
  
Additionally you offer:
  • Bachelor degree in Business (Event Management), Marketing or a similar field
  • Circa 2+ years experience organising events in an autonomous role
  • A demonstrated background managing events of a similar size
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills
  • A willingness to jump into the unknown with minimal guidance 
  • Demonstrate a passion and commitment to see this contract through from the beginning for the full 6-weeks 
  • You are reliable and available to start immediately.
