Tara’s team of over 40 experts operates in East, Southeast and South Asia, excluding India and China.
  
Tara’s mission is to support a diverse group of partners to accelerate Asia’s energy transformation and champion climate action. Tara plays three main roles in the region: Grantmaker, collaborating closely with mission-aligned foundations and philanthropists, working to accelerate Asia’s energy transition and climate action. As a convenor, Tara cultivates networks between business, civil society, and government throughout and beyond Asia. As a local and regional expert, Tara funds thorough research and analysis to address knowledge gaps, stay abreast of emerging trends, and craft evidence-based strategies to advance its mission.
  
Since establishing its headquarters in Singapore in 2021, the foundation has provided grants to more than 300 organisations across the region. Over the last 2 years, Tara has experienced significant growth, expanding its funding base to include more than a dozen philanthropic foundations.

The Role
  
The Senior Regional Strategist, Finance. Asia, works to shift Asian financial markets out of fossil fuels and into clean energy. Collaborating with Tara country leads and external partners, this role develops and leads Tara’s finance strategy and expanding program. In addition to management of the regional specialist. The role works with, and advises, regional country leads, diverse stakeholders, including finance sector partners, and manages a multimillion-dollar program budget and partner grants.
  
Tara’s finance strategy includes supporting a full range of levers to drive systemic change in the finance sector to accelerate the energy transition. This includes reputational risk campaigns focused on shifting key financial institutions, work with central banks, financial institutions, governments, and regulators around green and transition finance, and accelerating investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency.


Skills Required
  
You have a deep enthusiasm and commitment to work on transitioning finance from fossil fuels to clean energy, including a strong interest in, renewable energy and an understanding of the drivers and barriers to renewable energy adoption. Ideally you are a strategist from the finance sector, or a campaigner whose work includes successful campaigns influencing change in the finance sector, and you can demonstrate success shifting corporate decision making or policy via your direct engagement expertise.
  
You have at least 10+ years of relevant work experience in regional or international programs/initiatives with a demonstrated understanding of how advocacy can create systemic change. You have an innate grasp of multi-faceted program strategy, systems thinking, and the ability to articulate strategies in a clear and compelling way. You also offer;
  • Asia finance sector and/or energy sector literacy
  • A good understanding of the drivers of capital markets, including ESG
  • A solid grasp of energy policy and energy system transformation
  • Sharp written and verbal skills, fluent in business English and in at least one other language
  • Impeccable ethics and experience working confidentially and operating with high security
  • Advanced degree/relevant expertise/knowledge, ideally in an Asian language
  • A collaborative mindset working effectively in alliance with diverse stakeholders
