The Organisation
ProVeg China is a US-incorporated subsidiary of ProVeg International, a food awareness organisation working to transform the global food system by replacing animal-based products with plant-based and cultured alternatives. ProVeg works with decision-making bodies, companies, investors, the media, and the public to help the world transition to a society and economy that are less reliant on animal agriculture and more sustainable for all humans, animals, and our planet.
ProVeg has offices in fifteen countries, across five continents, and is a recipient of the United Nations’ Momentum for Change Award. The organisation has permanent observer status with the UNFCCC, special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and is accredited by the UN Environment Program.

The Role
Reporting to the Asia Managing Director, the Executive Director is a member of the global ProVeg leadership team and is responsible for the China ProVeg office and program. Responsibilities include ensuring the organisation's consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives in program development and administration, fundraising, PR, and multi stakeholder engagement.
This role also oversees fiscal management, ensures regulatory compliance, develops governance systems and policies, and provides inclusive and supportive leadership to the China team. Other key priorities are:

You are a well networked commercial leader with a strong commitment to ProVeg’s mission to reduce global reliance on animal products and to advocate for plant based and cultivated alternatives. Your broad experience includes both finance and compliance management and the successful scaling of programs or projects that can be leveraged to develop ProVeg China’s strategy and expand their activities.
With strong strategy development and commercial leadership skills, you bring demonstrated success collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including business, government, and social impact organisations. You have proven ability, or the transferable skills and experience, to identify and secure funds from international donors and build a China program. Your other skills include:

- China strategy and program development and implementation for scaled impact
- Thought leadership and advocacy to raise ProVeg’s profile and awareness of its mission
- Engagement with stakeholders including major donors, government, and corporates
- Securing funds from international donors in collaboration with ProVeg International
- Representing ProVeg China to decision-making bodies, investors, media, and the public
- Building the China team including professional development and coaching
