The Organisation

Corporate Action Japan (CAJ) コーポレート・アクション・ジャパン is an investor-facing shareholder advocacy and research organisation, leveraging the power of investment to drive climate action in the private sector and capture the opportunities of the net-zero transition.

CAJ aims to increase ambition and momentum across key investment, regulatory, and legislative agendas that can redirect financial flows towards a net-zero economy. CAJ’s vision is a swift transition of the Japanese economy to Paris-aligned industry and a service sector powered by sustainable clean energy.

CAJ will grow rapidly over the next 2-3 years, bringing together experts with backgrounds in finance, investment, climate change, law, policy, natural sciences, and communications to achieve this vision. The Role
  
This newly created hands-on role will instigate all HR processes and procedures, including a values focused performance management system, as required by this quickly growing and dynamic organisation. Working closely with the executive team you will ensure CAJ is investing in its biggest asset – its workforce of highly talented and motivated people.
  
Talent acquisition and employee engagement are the strategic priorities for this role along with the following functions; 
  • Internal HR framework and system development
  • Attendance/Leave Management
  • Employee Welfare
  • Performance Reviews
  • Talent Development

Skills Required
  
You have a track record in best practice human resources with a focus on talent acquisition and employee engagement, as they will be a primary focus in this role.  You bring proven ability to translate strategy into action whilst managing the detail of day-to-day operations, together with a track record of achieving team engagement and improvement.
  
Your experience also includes previous success in: 
  • Developing and implementing best practice initiatives, policies, and processes
  • Managing and developing people to maximise effectiveness and well-being
  • Overseeing contract management
  • Ensuring high quality compliance processes and risk management
