The Australian Communications Consumer Action Network, ACCAN, is Australia’s peak body representing the interests of all consumers in communications issues. ACCAN is an important and independent consumer voice with a vision for communications services that are trusted, inclusive, accessible and available for all consumers, with particular concern for vulnerable consumers whose needs are under-represented.
As technology evolves, ACCAN will make sure that consumers are not left behind. ACCAN’s work covers a broad range of issues from consumer protection and communications infrastructure to digital platforms.

Reporting to the CEO, this new role will develop and coordinate consumer and member engagement efforts aligned with ACCAN’s strategic plan. You will work closely with the policy and executive team in a range of internal and external forums, including with government, industry, and community bodies. Your responsibilities include:
- In collaboration with the ACCAN executive team, create and implement engagement strategies, plans, and outreach initiatives
- Drive social media efforts to encourage diverse audiences to engage with ACCAN’s issues
- Support ACCAN leadership to facilitate engagement with political, regulatory and industry stakeholders
- Manage membership strategy and overall consumer and community engagement
Skills Required

- Creativity and a member centric focus with a strong commitment to consumer rights

- Strong presentation and ICT skills, with the ability to work independently
- Awareness of accessibility and inclusion issues
