Established in 2011, The Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) is a global non-profit membership association transforming the global rice sector for a healthy, inclusive, and sustainable future. SRP is registered in Germany and based in Bangkok, Thailand.
SRP improves smallholder livelihoods, reduces the social, environmental and climate footprint of rice production, and offers the global rice market an assured supply of sustainably produced rice to meet growing global demand. SRP’s activities to advocate for value chain development include promotion of the ongoing development of science-based cultivation standards and recommendations for sustainable, resource-saving, and environmentally friendly rice cultivation, in particular the SRP Standard Requirements and Performance Indicators for Sustainable Rice Cultivation.

The Role
Reporting to the board, the Executive Director leads the day-to-day management of SRP, including overseeing the Secretariat which is responsible for strategy implementation and managing SRP operations inclusive of programmes, communications, compliance, finance, administration, and resource mobilization. Skills Required
You are a senior and strategic leader with a passion for sustainable development, preferably with experience in the agrifood or sustainable agriculture sectors. Ideally you have knowledge or experience in commercial rice trading, procurement, or retailing, plus experience in, or with, development finance institutions.
With advanced qualifications in a related field, you bring demonstrable success building multistakeholder partnerships, including public-private sector, and have preferably worked on, or with, agricultural commodity standards and assurance schemes. Experience with European law, carbon markets or climate finance would be an asset. Your other skills and experience include:

The Role

- Leading and further developing the SRP vision, mission, and strategic planning
- Managing the performance and visibility of the SRP Assurance scheme, fees, and operations
- Meeting targets to maintain a strong revenue base
- Public representation and promotion to expand the SRP membership
- Maintaining relationships with members, partners, and relevant stakeholders
- Supporting the board and organizing SRP general assemblies, conferences, and events
Skills Required
You are a senior and strategic leader with a passion for sustainable development, preferably with experience in the agrifood or sustainable agriculture sectors. Ideally you have knowledge or experience in commercial rice trading, procurement, or retailing, plus experience in, or with, development finance institutions.
With advanced qualifications in a related field, you bring demonstrable success building multistakeholder partnerships, including public-private sector, and have preferably worked on, or with, agricultural commodity standards and assurance schemes. Experience with European law, carbon markets or climate finance would be an asset. Your other skills and experience include:
- Demonstrated success in fund raising, resource mobilization, and building revenue streams
- Cross functional team leadership including finance and governance responsibilities
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, presentation, and networking skills
- Proven ability to work across different cultures and diversities and build consensus
- Excellent communication and strong English language skills
