The Organisation

The Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions (APF) is the leading human rights organisation in the region. Established in 1996, it is a coalition of 25 national human rights institutions (NHRIs) across the Pacific, Southeast, South, North, Central and West Asia. The APF provides practical support and advice to its member institutions to help them to be as effective as possible.

The Role

You will be the go-to person in the Pacific region, coordinating and contributing to APF projects.
Your role will involve:
  • APF training and development liaison to support NHRIs
  • Supporting the establishment of NHRIs in the Pacific
  • Representing APF at meetings and other fora; making presentations
  • Administrative, organisational and logistical arrangements as required

Skills Required
 

You are currently in an administration, project management or support role. You are a strong communicator with proven project management skills who work well, and collegiately, with systems and processes.

Additionally you have:
  • A high degree of attention to detail and a strategic mindset
  • Strong relationship building skills and ideally a government and UN network in the Pacific
  • Resourcefulness and the ability to work independently as well as part of team
  • Confidence in presenting in person to senior stakeholders
  • Experience of working inclusively with diverse groups across the Pacific sub-region
  • A high degree of personal drive and integrity and calmness under pressure
  • Native fluency in a Pacific Island language (other than English), with full working rights for Fiji
