The Organisation
  
The Federation is the peak body for Victoria’s Community Legal Centres (CLCs). Its members are at the forefront of helping those facing economic, cultural or social disadvantage and whose life circumstances are severely affected by their legal problem.

The Role
  
You will play a pivotal role during a critical time of growth for the organisation – and at an important time for the community - by executing a member-led and evidence-based policy platform and advocacy strategy that influences the position of the CLC sector, drives law reform and advances social justice. You will do this by:
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key decision makers and strategic partners across a diverse range of stakeholders; E.G CLC’s, community service providers and all levels within Government
  • Designing and executing advocacy campaign strategies ensuring they are impactful through effective evaluation of outcomes
  • Ensuring successful strategies are in place that drive and influence the Federations policy and political agenda
  • Providing strategic oversight, leadership and direction to the team - building capacity and fostering a collaborative team culture


Skills Required
  
You have a successful track record in strategic policy development and advocacy that informs campaigns for change, ideally within a social justice, health or government setting. You are a natural leader who can inspire, motivate and mentor your team.
  
Specific skills and experience required include:
  • High level strategic policy and campaign direction, advice and planning
  • Expert stakeholder engagement and relationship building; ability to influence, negotiate and collaborate diplomatically
  • Excellent political judgement and ability to quickly understand policy impacts, risks and opportunities impacting social change
  • Outstanding communication skills to frame and translate evidence of service and policy impact into clear and compelling narratives
