The Organisation

Trees For Life was established in 1981 with the purpose to restore and protect South Australian landscapes for nature to flourish. Trees For Life delivers conservation, revegetation, community engagement and training via several programs and services, including the Tree Scheme, Westwood Nursery, Paddock Tree Projects, professional environmental services, direct seeding, carbon and additional projects across the state.

The Role
  
Reporting into and working collaboratively with the CEO, you will be responsible for identifying and developing opportunities to leverage nature markets and other non-government funding sources to deliver on-ground biodiversity and carbon outcomes. This role will see you work closely with landholders, government, industry, and other key stakeholders. 

With your flair for developing and maintaining impactful relationships you are also skilled at contributing to projects, research, service delivery, identifying new funding streams, negotiation, reporting and costing models.
Specifically, you will:
  • Develop, refine and scale carbon and biodiversity market products and projects in partnership with stakeholders
  • Develop options for blended funding pathways for delivery of restoration projects
  • Test and refine project delivery models with partners and landholders
  • Monitor and evaluate activities and develop impact reports
  • Budget preparation and reporting

Skills Required
  
This role will suit candidates offering strong strategic business development and or complex project management experience, ideally obtained from within the conservation or agribusiness sectors.  Your proven ability to form strong stakeholder relationships and engage with landholders driving successful outcomes will be your key to success.

Additionally, you will possess:
  • The drive to identify and expand business opportunities
  • Knowledge of technical, policy and regulatory environments which underpin carbon and biodiversity environmental markets
  • Knowledge of land-based conservation & landscape restoration principles and practices
  • GIS mapping and data management experience
  • Commitment to environmental protection
  • Ability to travel Intrastate (overnight stays) and overtime hours may be required
