The Organisation
Health Equity Matters is the peak national organisation for Australia’s community HIV response and aims to end health inequity for its communities.
Through advocacy, policy and health promotion, they champion awareness, understanding and proactivity around HIV prevention, education, support and research.

They work with member organisations who represent lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex communities, sex workers, people who use drugs, people with HIV and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Health Equity Matters leads the national conversation on HIV and works collaboratively with governments, clinicians, researchers and communities across Australia.

The Role
Health Equity Matters works to contribute to the capacity of the workforce across HIV community-controlled organisations, inspiring excellence and opportunity to their member networks and beyond.
Reporting to the Manager, HOLA (HIV Online Learning Australia) this new role is part of a team including a second Instructional Designer and a Learning Coordinator. The role is responsible for the development and design of online learning activities and materials. Specifically, you will:
  • Scope, design, and develop high quality online learning activities, curriculum, and assessment tools
  • Design and coordinate delivery of educational online workshops and webinars
  • Build new and update existing online learning modules
  • Ensure programs are accessible and relevant, with high participation engagement and retention
  • Plan, implement and complete multiple projects according to priorities and deadlines
Build strong, collaborative relationships with member organisations to develop engaging content for diverse communities and participants

Skills Required
With a background in adult learning, you will enjoy contributing to improving health outcomes for communities and working in a collaborative team environment. In addition, you will also hold:  
  • Experience designing, developing, and delivering learning activities from inception to implementation
  • Strong understanding and application of adult learning principals
  • Demonstrated skills in translating information into engaging and easy-to-understand learning formats
  • Excellent knowledge of online learning and an ability to tailor sensitive content to specific audiences
  • Confidence to work autonomously on complex project components
  • Experience with online course authoring software and design tools (desirable)
