Beyond their success as a professional football club, the Brisbane Broncos are dedicated to enhancing opportunities for disadvantaged youth and making a positive contribution to improving social equality between First Australian Peoples and other Australians.
Through the delivery of one of their community programs, the Learner Driver program sees the Broncos partnering with the State Government to remove an important barrier for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth by getting them on the road, assisted by a mentor and logging more hours towards getting their license. This in turn assists them in applying for better employment opportunities.
The Role
You will lead and manage the implementation of the Learner Driver program, planning and coordinating all activities to ensure success. You’ll support and manage all students and volunteers in scheduling supervised driving lessons and maintain timely and consistent communication with stakeholders including schools, community, sponsors, participants and their families. You will develop and nurture relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, industry, community and government contacts to grow the quality of the program. You are a confident, proactive coordinator, youth support officer or similar, who demonstrates a high level of administration, planning and decision-making skills.
You have awareness around Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and protocols and you’re solutions focused, with the ability to work within a fast paced environment. Together with a driver’s licence, current Blue Card and relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in a like-minded role, you’re able to demonstrate:

- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to a small team of volunteers
- Retain volunteers and support students in understanding driving practices
- Ensure compliance with Government requirements and make sure all KPIs are met
- Monitor, evaluate and report on program outcomes
- Based in Red Hill, Brisbane with onsite parking and work from home flexibility
