The Australian Education Union (AEU) is the federal union for teachers, principals, support staff and all educators working in public education.

The Role
  
Reporting into the Campaigns Director, you will be responsible with advancing the policy objectives of the AEU relating specifically to developing and implementing communication of its campaigns.
  
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
  • Developing and executing multi-channel (paid, free and digital media) campaign communication strategies
  • Developing written content and producing video content for a variety of platforms including blogs, newsletters, journal, social media sites and AEU websites
  • Developing a media buy strategy to ensure best return on investment
  • Working with design agencies on campaign related content e.g. social media, videos and brochures
  • Managing the social media and online sites including building the presence of the AEU and engagement of its members

Skills Required
  
You are a highly motivated professional with excellent interpersonal skills who has worked in a similar role ideally within a political, union or campaigning organisation. You will have:
  • Highly developed written communication skills, editing and proof-reading skills specifically related to developing campaign material
  • Experience in managing and developing content for social media
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast paced ever changing environment
  • An understanding of the role media plays in meeting campaign objectives
  • Excellent ability to conduct research and analysis
