The Role
  
In your role as Campaigns Director, you will be responsible with communicating and advancing the priorities and policy objectives of the AEU through thoughtful, integrated communication that targets a range of audiences via short and long term campaigns, online engagement and direct communication.
  
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring short- and long-term campaign plans and strategies
  • People leadership of the campaign team to ensure successful execution of strategy
  • Executing weekly campaign strategies
  • Collaborating with other AEU branches and affiliates in relation to campaigns
  • Collaborating on the development of campaign communication related to the AEU’s campaigns

Skills Required
  
You will have a strong understanding of the national political landscape and a strategic mind. You are a person with a proven track record in developing, executing and evaluating advocacy campaign strategies through your work in a similar role within a political, union or campaigning organisation. Additionally you will have:
  • An expert collaborative style to develop strong networks and relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to quickly switch between issues and manage multiple projects whilst meeting deadlines in a fast paced ever changing environment
  • Experience in leading and managing teams
  • Highly developed written skills, research skills and analysis
