The Role
  
Plan needs bold, forward-thinking and innovative individuals to lead its Pacific operations, driving change and delivering results that will allow Plan to reach its target of 100 million girls. 

As the Pacific Programme Director, you will drive Plan International’s programme and influencing work across three Pacific countries in the Pacific, setting overall direction, leading a high performing team across the Pacific, ensuring accountability for meeting demanding targets, and maintaining alignment with the global strategy.

You will be comfortable with leading transformative change, have a demonstrable commitment to gender equality, and relish the prospect of representing Plan International to the highest levels of government, civil society, and the local and international media.


Skills Required
  
To be successful in this role you will be an experienced Pacific multi-country programme manager, with Pacific citizenship. You are experienced in working with international aid organisations in the Pacific region and have a deep understanding of child rights and ‘gender in development’. Your end-to-end programme management experience includes fundraising, proposal development, resource mobilisation, managing donor compliance, and budget management.

Additionally you will have:
  • Proven leadership skills developing and managing effective and motivated programme teams, including remotely.
  • A successful track record in representation to donor agencies locally, with proven networking and negotiation skills with Pacific governmental and non-governmental actors.
  • A history of meeting fundraising targets, delivering projects successfully, and implementing effective resource mobilisation strategies.
  • Strong stakeholder communication and influencing skills, including through mass-media.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills plus a Pacific Island language.
