Aya is a dedicated recruitment researcher with a passion for environmental and social issues. Aya joined NGO Recruitment in early 2024 to support Lois Freeke on the Asia Pacific desk searching for talent internationally.
With a Master of Science in Global Affairs specialising in Environmental/Energy Policy from New York University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts: Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy, Aya possesses a diverse skill set, encompassing research and analysis, technical writing, copywriting, and database management.
Aya is a global citizen living in Tokyo (where she is currently based), and she has previously lived in Hong Kong, Singapore, Los Angeles and New York – a background that provides our APAC desk a significant advantage in the recruitment process. A bilingual English Japanese speaker with high attention to detail, Aya develops a deep understanding of the roles we recruit to ensure she is able to identify hard to find international candidates.
In her spare time, Aya loves to read science fiction and fantasy books, create art projects and explore hiking trails. Due to her love of animals, Aya has volunteered at animal shelters, including the Wild Bird Fund in New York.
