What is the close date for the advertisement?
We don’t recruit to closing dates as we have a rolling model of recruitment and start the assessment process as soon as applications are made. To ensure you don’t miss out on an opportunity we recommend you apply as soon as you can.

Is my background suitable for the role?
We write our advertisements with great care based on the briefing we have received from our client. All advertising is approved by our client before being published. We encourage you to have a very close look at the “skills required” section of the advertisement, and if you believe you meet most of what it is we are asking for, then please go ahead and submit an application. We ask you to address the “skills required” section of the advertisement in a short 1-2 page cover letter, rather than respond to the criteria in the job description, as these are the competencies we have identified as being the most important in the successful candidate. Depending on the role and our client’s requirement we only ask shortlisted candidates to respond to the selection criteria in the job description. We find this saves you a lot of time.

Can you tell me more about what the client is looking for?
As mentioned above, we write our advertisements based upon the position description and the briefing received from our client. We encourage you to use the “skills required” and “the role” sections of the advertisement as a guide to your suitability for the role. We have deeper discussions at the interview stage with the successful candidates, and of course, will provide you with a full brief prior to any interviews you may have with our client.

Can you tell me more about the client?
We encourage you to research the client’s website. If you are looking for annual reports or financial information and can’t find it on the website, please google the client’s name along with ACNC (Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission) and you’ll likely be able to find what it is you want on the ACNC website.

What is the start date?
We are recruiting now which means a decision will likely be made within a few weeks as we move through the recruitment process. Our clients generally request a successful candidate start as soon as they have worked out their notice period (you may negotiate a short break between roles).

The job has been advertised for a while, am I too late to apply?
We keep our advertising open right up until a contract has been signed by the appointed candidate. If you feel you are a suitable candidate, we encourage you to apply, regardless of how long the role has been advertised.

What are the key objectives for the board / future direction of the organisation / key challenges in the role / is it a newly created role / why is the role available etc?
This is the type of question and answer session that we would reserve for discussion once you have been identified as a candidate of interest. The tone of our advertising will give you an idea as to whether our client may have a growth agenda or whether they are looking for someone to bed down current programs etc. If it is a newly created role, we generally state that in the advertisement. We also encourage you to search the client’s media releases or announcements section on their website, check them out on google news etc which will give you some further insight.

We will be happy to answer additional questions as we move further into the process, however, due to the current volume of enquiries we are receiving, we are unable to have in depth discussions with all candidates at this time. Feel free to address any additional questions you may have in your cover letter.
