The Organisation

With a vision of a just and thriving Asia powered by renewable energy, Tara Climate Foundation is a new and rapidly expanding philanthropic initiative focusing on South, Southeast, and East Asia (excluding China and India). The Tara Climate Foundation is headquartered in Singapore with a team spread throughout the region.

Tara plays three main roles: providing grants to a diverse group of climate and energy transition partners; working with local partners to craft compelling strategies for advancing the transition; and the convening of partners within and across borders. Tara provides grants to hundreds of civil society and research organizations, thinktanks, non-state actors, and the private sector across Asia to accelerate a just and clean energy transition.

The Role
  
This role will build a program to drive corporate renewable energy demand and corporate decarbonisation, leveraging investor strategies and technical analysis coupled with staff engagement, media, public campaigning, and a range of other strategies.
  
You will work with existing corporate renewable energy alliances and civil society partners to develop a multi-faceted strategy for encouraging corporates to make stronger decarbonisation commitments and undertake policy advocacy to ensure renewable energy procurement options are available. In addition to direct engagement with corporates, you will build and manage new partnerships and scale a grant making program.


Skills Required
  
You have a deep understanding of, or strong interest in, renewable energy and the drivers and barriers to renewable energy adoption, and you are eager to help accelerate the energy transition by leveraging your influencing skills. With a corporate, ESG, renewable energy/ procurement, or related NGO or advocacy background, you are a politically savvy relationship manager and networker, a confident presenter, and your work demonstrates your understanding of how advocacy creates systemic change via the development of a multi-faceted strategy. You also offer:
  • Excellent organisational, project management and budget management abilities
  • Sharp written and verbal communication skills, strong English language skills
  • A collaborative mindset working effectively in alliance with diverse stakeholders
  • Impeccable ethics, experience working confidentially and flexibly across the region
  • A master’s degree qualification/relevant expertise/knowledge, ideally an Asian language
