The Organisation
Father Bob’s Foundation is a registered charity continuing the work of its founder, Father Bob Maguire AO RFD. The Foundation provides food relief, social inclusion and associated services offering material, emotional and social support ensuring that, in Father Bob’s words, “no one is left behind”
Operating from Father Bob’s Pantry, a warehouse facility in South Melbourne, the Foundation prepares and distributes hundreds of meals weekly and provides food supplies, toiletries and other items to support people in need. Harnessing community support in the form of dedicated volunteers, donors and partners, the Foundation’s mission is to facilitate the establishment of a caring community, by the community, for the community.
The Role
Working closely with and reporting to the General Manager, Paul Brophy OAM, you will join the Foundation at a pivotal time of consolidation and growth. The Assistant Manager provides day to day operational leadership overseeing food preparation, stock management, meal dispatch, logistics, and client engagement. A vital part of your role will be to continue the supportive, collaborative and rewarding environment for clients and volunteers.

Skills Required
You’re a proven organiser ideally with experience gained in hospitality, food service, distribution or in a related community sector. You demonstrate a high degree of emotional intelligence with collaboration and relationship building abilities. In addition, you have the people skills to work with a diverse range of clients, volunteers and supporters to deliver and grow the work of the Foundation

You will:
- Possess experience in hospitality and operations along with an understanding of organisational management, administration and logistics
- Be willing to work with and support volunteers delivering services to those in need
- Have strong communication and relationship skills, able to work effectively with clients, partners, supporters and the community
- Have the physical capability to lift and carry goods and hold a current and valid driver licence
- Demonstrate personal qualities of empathy, compassion and a sense of humour
