The Association of Children’s Welfare Agencies (ACWA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Kinmond as its new CEO, effective from February 18 next year. NGO Recruitment were delighted to work with the board of ACWA on this assignment and we have no doubt that Steve will be an outstanding leader for the sector.
ACWA Chair Bob Mulcahy said Mr Kinmond, who is currently NSW Deputy Ombudsman and Community and Disability Services Commissioner, is an outstanding choice to lead the peak body into a new era of advocacy work for children and families in NSW.
“Steve has an impressive track record of advocating for vulnerable children and families, and his appointment marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for ACWA,” Mr Mulcahy said.
“He brings with him extensive experience in the community services sector and holds an excellent reputation not only across ACWA’s membership base, but with state and federal politicians, government departments, regulators and accreditors, and peak organisations around Australia.
“We look forward to Steve continuing to build on the outstanding work ACWA has undertaken over the past 12 years under the exceptional leadership of Andrew McCallum.”
The Association of Children’s Welfare Agencies is the NSW peak body representing non-government organisations that provide services to vulnerable children, young people and their families.
