About the Organisation
Opportunity International Australia gives the most marginalised families in developing countries the tools to break the cycle of poverty themselves. Opportunity provides small loans to families to build businesses, earn regular incomes, put food on the table and send their kids to school. We give parents school fee loans; school leaders school improvement loans, and families small loans to build toilets and access clean water. We have health education programs in India and Indonesia, a domestic violence counselling service in India and we provide digital services to families in their local dialect on low-cost mobile phones.
In this role, you’ll be a pivotal member of our world-class fundraising team. You’ll nurture relationships with individual donors, grant managers and trustees of trusts and foundations, and inspire them to give generously to help families lift themselves out of poverty. You’ll motivate individuals to leave a legacy by leaving a gift to Opportunity in their Will, you’ll give awesome presentations and organise life-changing events.
You’ll be living in Sydney or Melbourne and travelling to regional areas of NSW or Victoria/Tasmania. Sometimes you’ll travel overseas to see for yourself how your passion and drive are helping families live lives free from poverty. You’ll report to the conductor of our finely tuned orchestra – our Major Gifts Director.
