The Role

Reporting to the Director of Development, you will work closely with the fundraising teams across Australia and the Asia Pacific region to implement and coordinate effective strategies and plans for gift prospects, including corporate, foundation and individual donors.  You will use your Chinese language abilities to build a donor portfolio and nurture strong relationships to deliver upon agreed growth targets.

You will also:
  • Collaborate with the Asia team to strengthen the Asia Pacific network of donors.
  • Engage with the appropriate partners and global team, keeping them apprised and updated.
  • Work within budgets and to KPIs to meet fundraising objectives.
  • Occasionally travel to the Asia Pacific region.

Skills Required

To excel in this role you will have:
  • A Bachelor’s degree and at least five years’ related experience gained in a revenue generating role where you met growth targets.
  • An understanding of the principles of developing either customer or donor strategies.
  • Experience in nurturing relationships which have resulted in a positive financial outcome.
  • A strong sense of accountability, initiative, leadership and team building skills.
  • Good listening skills and strong relationship building skills gained in a similar or commercially focused role.
  • Strong experience or understanding of the Asia Pacific Region and its culture.
Please note: Native-level Mandarin (written and spoken) is essential for this role, Cantonese is a strong advantage. You must have full working rights for Australia to apply for this role.
