NGO Recruitment’s NFP Hiring insights and salary snapshot

Senior Consultant, Melbourne

Gemma has an engaging personality and gets results. With more than 16 years’ of recruiting experience under her belt, Gemma has relished the chance to source a diverse range of permanent and contract roles for non-profits since joining NGO Recruitment in 2021.

Gemma has always had a knack for connecting with people and builds rapport through her genuine desire to learn about clients’ and candidates’ aspirations and attributes. Her authenticity shines through in her attentive communication style and her ability to skilfully ask questions to get clarity. She brings this tactfulness to both sourcing and outplacement services.

While she has placed roles at every level for a broad range of not-for-profits, filling positions with a focus on supporting women, children and families has also been a feature of Gemma’s work. She supported a peak body for educators to appoint a passionate candidate to advocate for equitable and family friendly conditions for members; found the ideal person to roll-out a program to increase participation of women in the male-dominated construction industry; and placed a CEO up to the challenge of leading a camp to support at-risk indigenous youth in remote NSW.

A master of managing her time, Gemma brings a laser focus to the roles she takes on and always does what’s best for both clients and candidates. She’s successfully recruited across all levels including positions in leadership, finance, HR, marketing, fundraising, projects and administration.

Gemma’s work history includes senior roles with a boutique Australian recruitment company in the international trade, logistics and supply chain sectors. She’s experienced in sourcing the ideal talent for large, global organisations through to small teams.

Gemma aspires to set a great example for her three children, is a long-standing child sponsor through World Vision, and regularly donates to worthwhile causes—especially crisis support efforts.
